ProQuest

Who are they?
ProQuest is an internet-based, multi-lingual search engine that powers research in academic, corporate, government, public and school libraries around the world.

What did I do?
As UXD Manager, I led the UI & UX design and customer journeys for all web products, serving over 125 billion digital pages in 38 different languages across over 175 territories worldwide. Managing a team of eighteen in three countries (UK, India and USA), I built key relationships with internal business leads, to accomplish their product and business objectives, and the software development team, to convey their requirements and optimise efficiency while working within the technical constraints of the product. I introduced new features, including an interface that allowed customers to “read” digital archives in their original publication format, offering successful UX/UI solutions to improve usability and accessibility.

During my time with the company the team introduced and launched several high-profile titles, including Vogue, NME, the Irish Times and the Glasgow Herald, onto the platform. I was also the creative director on Queen Victoria’s Journals, the online library of Queen Victoria’s private diaries launched by HRH Queen Elizabeth II in May 2012, and took a hands on approach and designed ProQuest's prototype mobile platform for iOS, producing a proof of concept to help establish key user flows and understand the various customer journeys.
